What we publish
Free calculators and short guides about the costs of buying a vehicle in the United States: sales tax, title and registration fees, and dealer fees, worked out state by state.
How pages are written
Each state's page is written from that state's own verified data rather than filled into one shared template with the state name swapped in. The numbers and the words are meant to match, and when a number changes, the page is revisited rather than just the figure.
No pay-for-placement
We do not accept payment to rank, favor or add a state, lender or dealer differently in a calculator's output or in the site's content. A state is covered, or not yet covered, based only on whether we have confirmed its rules against an official source.
Advertising stays separate
This site may show advertising served by Google AdSense or similar networks. Ads are selected and placed by the ad network, not by us, and they have no influence on a calculator's math or on which states are covered. See the disclaimer for more on advertising and external links.
